NORTH VS SOUTH - THE GREAT POURING DEBATE

featuring:

The legendary Pete Brown (Beer Writer of the Year '09) in the Northern Corner

and

Duncan Sambrook, brewer of The Wandle, in the Southern Corner

It's The Mother of All Battles - is the Sparkler the Devil's Toy?

The South famously likes its beer 'straight out' with little or no head. While in the North the fiendish Sparkler (similar to a tiny showerhead)  may be affixed to the nozzle-end forcing the beer through tiny holes and creating a thick, creamy head.

We'll explore the difference and see what happens when we put the archetypal London beer (our beloved Sambrook's Wandle) through the said Sparkler. Duncan Sambrook will be on hand to wince. This will be an informal social event in the main bar for all beer lovers.

Cost is £6 which includes 2 x pints of the beers in question (line-up to be confirmed but will certainly include Sambrook's Wandle and something excellent from our friends up North). This represents a discounted rate versus our usual sale prices. Tickets must be purchased here to avail of this discount. Please bring printed tickets on the night to ensure you get FREE BEER (yeah!).

The Draft House

The Draft House is a small group of Public Houses which aims to do for beer what our culture has done for food and wine over the past twenty years.  Namely, we take its provenance, cellaring and serving seriously.

We celebrate choice and quality with an extraordinary range of strange and wonderful brews, both bottled and on tap.  A Draft House also serves good British food and will have an eclectic selection of fine wines and whiskies.
